Mamas, It’s Time to Prioritize YOU! 💅🏾✨

I know, I know, finding time for yourself as a single mum is like finding a unicorn at Walmart… basically impossible. But trust me, it’s necessary! Because sis, you can only be the best parent when you are good—physically, mentally, spiritually, and all-roundly (yes, I just made that up, but you get the point 🤣).

Let me tell you a quick story. After I had my baby, about five months later, my ex hit me with the D word—divorce. Whew, chile. I was a mess, but because I’m a boss (obviously 😌), I decided to keep it moving. Except… I overdid it. I threw myself into work, barely slept because my baby was permanently attached to me, and juggled everything like I was preparing for olympics.

At first, I thought the exhaustion was normal. You know, mum life. But this? This was soul-deep tiredness. The type that no amount of coffee or “good vibes only” quotes could fix. So, I told my therapist, and she hit me with some wisdom: “Do something for YOU.”

So your girl became Picasso overnight! 🎨 I ordered a paint-by-numbers kit, because freehand painting was not about to embarrass me (this is a good one if you are interested https://amzn.to/4hAaSjs), grabbed some sparkling cider (since breastfeeding had me on a wine break), blasted some music, and just let myself be. And let me tell you, it was magical. It gave me something to focus on besides my broken heart, and for the first time in a long time, I felt… good.

Now, painting might not be your thing. And that’s cool! But this week, I challenge you to try something new:

  • Put on your headphones and dance like Rihanna told you to. (“You make me feel like I’m the only girl in the world… 🎶”)
  • Take yourself out for a coffee date—girllll, the cafés in my city love to see me cominggg.
  • Hit the gym or go for a walk.
  • Dress up, even if you’re staying home! Do your skincare. Wax your down there—yes, even if nobody is visiting. Do it for YOU!

Because listen—life has to go on. This chapter might be hard, but there are so many beautiful, peaceful, and joy-filled ones coming. So get ready for them.

And if nobody has told you today—you deserve the best, sis. You are beautiful. You are powerful. You are a force to be reckoned with. The world needs your light, so step out of that hurt, dust yourself off, and LIVE BOLDLY. 💖
