It’s past 11 p.m., and I’m sitting in the dark, staring at my Bible like it’s about to explain itself. Because honestly? What God is asking me to do right now feels borderline reckless. Like—”God, are You sure it’s me You’re talking to? Because this doesn’t make any sense.”

So I start flipping through the pages, half praying, half scrolling through my thoughts, and then… boom. I land in John 6.

And then verse 8 grabs me.

This is the part where Andrew tells Jesus, “There’s a boy here with five loaves and two small fish—but what are they for so many?” (For context, Jesus had just finished teaching and wanted to feed all the people that came to hear him).

That part right there stopped me.

Because wait—Jesus didn’t even ask what was available. He asked where can we buy bread to feed these people? And here’s Andrew, nervously reporting inventory like a Costco clerk: “Uh, Lord, we’ve got five loaves and two fish, but I don’t think this is going to cut it.”

And in my head, I swear Jesus just smiled and thought,
“Oh, I can work with that.”

That line hit me so hard I almost threw my Bible across the room (respectfully).

Because it reminded me—I don’t have to be enough. I don’t have to have enough. Not enough money, not enough degrees, not enough strength to raise a child, or enough courage to chase a dream that scares me.

I just have to show up with my five loaves and two fish—whatever that looks like in my life right now—and trust that in God’s hands, even that can feed a multitude.

So I started thanking Him. For every “not enough” that somehow became more than enough.

And maybe this word isn’t for everyone. But I feel in my heart, God wants someone to hear this tonight:

What you have is exactly what He needs to work that miracle.

So stop worrying if it looks small—He’s about to multiply it in ways you can’t even imagine.

With love,

Ife
